Given the state of NHL Department of Player Safety, it always seems like a roll of the dice as to whether George Parros wants to do his job or not. So last night when Nikita Zadorov landed a high hit on Luke Glendening, no one was sure whether or not he'd receive a hearing for the hit.

The hit occured 4-minutes into the 2nd period and ended Glendening's night. The Dallas Stars haven't confirmed a concussion at this time, but have simply called it a "head injury".

Today Insider Elliotte Friedman is reporting that Zadorov will face an NHL Disciplinary hear for the blow.

Sounds like there will be a hearing for Nikita Zadorov

This was later confirmed by Player Safety.

The video shows that Zadorov's elbow appeared to be the primary point of contact, but Zadorov doesn't appear to be targeting the head. After Darnell Nurse only received a 1-game suspension for headbutting, I'm surprised to see Zadorov receive any penalty at all.
