NHL changes the goal scoring summary to hide missed too many men penalty
Nazem Kadri's Game 4 overtime game winner was the biggest moment of Kadri's career. It was also the biggest goal in Avalanche franchise history since they last won the Stanley Cup. With the Avalanche now leading the series 3-1, they're on the verge of derailing the Lightning's potential dynasty.
The overtime goal didn't come without controversy especially after photos of the media's game sheets acknowledges the officiating crew's mistake. The game sheets are automatically generated by player tracking software which logs which players were on the ice during a play. So after the game the NHL handed the media members their game log.
Much to everyone's surprise the log listed 7 Avalanche players on the ice at the time of the goal.
But when fans went to the NHL website to verify this, it was clear the league had updated this log to remove the additional player. So is this simple NHL editing or does Jon Cooper have a legitimate issue?
