NHL makes a decision banning Pride jerseys for next season
This season the NHL faced a lot of criticism. From the stagnant salary cap to the new board advertisements the league faced constant criticism. No criticism may have been more overblown than the criticism the league received over teams and players decisions to wear Pride jerseys.
For the first time in the "Hockey is for Everyone" era, teams and players decided they no longer wanted to wear the jersey. While some players exercised their religious beliefs, other Russian born players didn't know any to wear the jersey for political reasons. Now it appears the NHL has come up with a permanent solution for next season.
Today Gary Bettman made it clear that this wouldn't be an issue next season as no team will be allowed to wear speciality jerseys during warm up.
From NHL Board of Governors: teams will not wear specialty jerseys in warmups next season.
This decision has already recieved criticism from some and praise from others.
