Marty Walsh doesn't mess around as head of the NHLPA, it seems the time is running out for the Arizona Coyotes.

The Arizona Coyotes have been one of the biggest disappointments in the National Hockey League on and off the ice for years now. That's been no secret, but it seems like the clock might be running out for the Coyotes to find a new arena, and by extension, their stay in Arizona could be coming to an end. At least if the National Hockey League Players Association's Executive Director Marty Walsh had his way.

In a conversation with Sportsnet, Walsh was very clear, time was running out on the Coyotes as they have made no moves to secure a new arena; take a look.

"They were talking about, Oh, we're going to find a new place pretty quickly.' The year has gone by and they haven't found anything, at least to my knowledge. So the clock is ticking on Arizona, in my opinion.» - NHLPA Marty Walsh

Regarding Salt Lake City: «To me, that's a message to the Arizona Coyotes. The NHL has basically said they need to know about Arizona by the All-Star break, well, we're a week and a half from the All-Star break» - Elliotte Friedman

Walsh says that the Coyotes ownership had said they would find a new building quickly, but have madd no attempts to do so to his knowledge, thus the clock continues to tick.

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet adds, the announcement of a potential expansion into Salt Lake City is a clear message to the Coyotes. The NHL had asked the Coyotes to know their plans by the All-Star break, but as it approaches, no moves have been made.

Is the clock finally striking midnight on the Arizona Coyotes franchise? It's certainly looking that way.
