It took Jesper Bratt one-year to make the jump from NHL prospect to everyday NHL player. While not impressive on its own, it becomes far more impressive when you realize Bratt was selected in the 6th round. Bratt was selected 162nd overall and was expected to be a long shot to make the league.

Just five-years later and Bratt could be one of the most coveted restricted free agents on the market. So much so that Bratt could believably be an offer sheet target for a team looking to add an impact forward. Last season Bratt put up 73 points in 76 games, while being defensively responsible as well.

Friedman & Marek talk about how the negotiations for Jesper Bratt's last contract were really tough and both sides are gearing up for another difficult negotiation. Marek brings up the possibility of an offer sheet but EF says it doesn't make sense here, NJ have $25M in cap space

Bratt just finished a 2-year bridge deal which paid him $2,750,000.

The deal Bratt just completed with a contentious negotiation and led to some negative feelings between the parties. If the two parties are unable to find a middle ground before free agency it's likely Bratt's name will begin to surface in trade talk.
