New York Islanders Head Coach implements unique practice punishment to motivate his team
Different coaches have different strategies to help motivate their teams, but Lane Lambert's unique punishment might just be one of the best. With the New York Islanders currently sitting in a Wild Card position every single point matters. That's why Lambert is preaching accountability and no mistakes wherever possible.
At yesterday's practice Lambert implemented a punishment for his entire team to help them motivate each other. Lambert made the decision for every shot that was missed the entire team would have to do 2 push ups, creating an incentive for their players not to miss.
For every shot not on net, everyone does two push-ups.
When Lambert announced the punishment he wasn't kidding and the Islanders got a great workout during their practice. This is just another way that the Islanders stay focused as they look to get back into the playoffs this season.
