Nic Deslauiers and Jamie Oleksiak drop the gloves for a spirited Heavyweight Tilt in Seattle
The Philadelphia Flyers were given a solid beat down 6-2 by the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on Thursday night.
The Kraken started off fast outshooting the Flyers 11-1. With the score 1-0 Kraken, Flyers' winger Nick Deslauriers dropped the gloves with hulking Kraken defenceman Jamie Oleksiak to try and spark his team.
Deslauriers (6'1"/220lbs) was giving up six inches in height to Oleksiak.(6'7"/257lbs) The Quebec native definitely got the better of his much larger opponent. Oleksiak was very happy to see the linesmen intervene to stop the altercation between the two heavyweights.
There's no doubt Deslauriers is one of the best fighters in the league and he makes a good living doing it. The 31 year old signed a 4 year, $7,000,000 contract with the Philadelphia Flyers last summer. In 56 games he has scored 3 goals and 8 points.
