While Jack Campbell's time in the AHL so far has been mediocre at best, it seems the Edmonton Oilers still plan to allow him time to find his game before making any sort of trade. Now, he's getting some extra help.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, goatending coach Manny Legace will be joining Campbell at the AHL level to work with him. The two have worked together before.
"I still do believe that its [the Oiler's] first choice to have Campbell rejoin the team and improve his play."
Campbell's start to his AHL stint was anything but good, taking three straight losses and not looking good in the process. However, last week he did have a 30 save shutout that could signal the start of him regaining his old self.
Edmonton seems to be finding its game under new head coach Kris Knoblauch. They'll need to keep momentum in order to challenge for a playoff spot.
