Ottawa Senators defenseman hits his teammate in the face with his stick while on the bench
This season was supposed to be different. This was supposed to be the year that the Ottawa Senators took a major step forward. Unfortunately that hasn't happened and the Senators sit near the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
Today the Ottawa Senators are in Nashville facing off against the Predators. After Austin Watson received a penalty for holding the stick or Filip Forsberg, Thomas Chabot was so upset he tried to slam his stick against the glass. Unfortunately for Travis Hamonic he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Chabot's stick strikes Hamonic right in the face on the play leaving him upset and shaken. Luckily after being checked over by the medical staff, Hamonic was able to remain in the game. This is essentially the Senators season in a nut shell at this point.
