Jordan Binnington fires back claiming 'I'm not here to waste my f***ing time every game'
It's been 3 years since the St. Louis Blues came from last place to win a Stanley Cup, with Craig Berube's leadership and a little help from an unknown goal-tender at the time.
That goaltender was Jordan Binnington who slotted in over veteran Jake Allen. But since then Binnington has slowly been falling off the rails. Binnington's personality has been on full display and his teammates were not spared from the collateral damage of his comments:
It's the same old story; it's happened (a couple) years in a row, where it's the same kind of start and, you know, it pisses me off. I'm here to win and that starts from day one, from training camp.
We're slowly building and playing together. We're getting there. But we're two and a half, three months into the season. It just gets frustrating over a period of time where it's the same thing that you're seeing and you expect things to be different. I'm not here to waste my fing time every game. It's the NHL. Let's go!
Under Berube's guidance and Binnington's play, the Blues were a regular Cinderella story. Since then, the good guys have turned into villains and he's seemly turned on his teammates
Binnington has become regularly unhinged since Ville Husso outshined him last season. Throwing a bottle at Nazeem Kadri during the playoffs, and, his meltdown against the San Jose Sharks was also just evidence of his terrible personality that's been on full display the last few years.
Is Jordan Binnington even an NHL-caliber goalie anymore? At this point, he's causing more harm than good to everyone around him and if I was one of his teammates, I wouldn't take kindly to his continued antics, nor his above comments.
His last two seasons have been brutal, is he a buyout candidate yet?
