It has been a season to forget for Senators center Josh Norris. Earlier in the season Norris injured his shoulder on a faceoff that caused him to miss thirty-eight games. Ottawa General Manager states that Norris has re-aggravated the same injury and will have season ending surgery soon.

It seems like the Norris tried to rehabilitate his injury back in October and it was not as effective as he would have hoped. Now Norris attempted a come back but the rehab did not workout. This is just another questionable decision by the Ottawa Senators medical staff, who last year reportedly misdiagnosed Matt Murray's injury causing him to miss even more time.

The Senators likely weren't making the playoffs this season, but Norris is a big part of their future and a good young hockey player. Norris had thirty-five goals for the Senators last season and was looking to build on a strong season from last year. It is a shame that Josh's season has gone this way and it must be disappointing to him and to the Ottawa organization as well.

Norris finishes the season playing just eight games and registering three points. Let's hope he can get a quick surgery date and begin a road to recovery quickly. Shoulder surgeries can take a while to fully recover from. If he gets the surgery done now, he can possibly be ready for training camp in September.
