Philadelphia Flyers give up on former draft pick, place him on waivers to terminate his contract
Waiver news has been revealed for Thursday. The New York Rangers have placed defenceman Libor Hajek on waivers. The Philadelphia Flyers have placed Linus Hogberg on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a contract termination.
The 25 year old Hajek was acquired as part of the package then sent Ryan McDonagh and J.T. Miller to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He has played parts of five seasons (all with New York) producing five points while averaging just 13:15 in ice time this season.
The 24 year old Hogberg has played just five games in the NHL posting 2 assists last season. He hasn't done enough this season to earn a call up from coach John Tortorella. Hogberg will likely return to Sweden to continue his career overseas after the short stint in North America.
