All in all, Pavel Koledov probably got away easy with this one. The defenceman with the KHL's Salavat Yulaev has been suspended for one game after a brutal hit from behind on fellow blueliner Artem Serikov of Nizhnekamsk.
Serikov was bleeding from hitting his face on the glass. However, he would be ok. In addition to a one game suspension, Koledov has also received an undisclosed monetary fine, as well as a 5 minute major and misconduct during the game.
Despite the fact that the NHL season doesn't open until October, the KHL has been holding regular season game for about a month now.
