Potential Top Three Pick In Next Year's Draft Out Long-Term
A projected top three pick in next year's NHL draft Ivan Demidov has injured his knee and is expected to be out long-term with the anticipated recovery time being 2 and a half months.
The 17 year- old .Demidov had 19 goals and 64 points in 44 MHL games last year, the top Russian junior league. It was the best output ever seen by a U-18 player in league history, beating the likes of Nikita Kucherov, Nikita Gusev and, Matvei Michkov. A very impressive feat by Demidov.
Demidov is expected to compete with Macklin Celebrini of Boston University, and Cole Eiserman of the USNTDP for the top selection in next year's draft.
A tough break for the young Russian who will miss time in a crucial year for his development, but luckily it's early enough in the season that Demidov will have plenty of runway left in the campaign to impress scouts ahead of the draft.
