Tuesday night the Boston Bruins were on the road against the Detroit Red Wings. During that game, one of the Bruins most important players was injured.
In the second period the Red Wings dumped the puck into the Bruins zone. The newest addition to the team, star defenceman Hampus Lindholm, made what looked like a simple motion and turned to skate towards the puck. But Lindholm let up and grabbed his knee.
What looked like a regular play at first may now have big consequences. Lindholm did not return to the game after that shift.
Any time a player suffers a non-contact injury, the immediate reaction is to think it's some sort of ligament damage. The Bruins are obviously hoping it's nothing but we will have to wait and see.
