Quebec government already making demands of new Canadiens captain
The Montreal Canadiens season has not started yet and their newly appointed captain is already being coerced to get himself acquainted with the French language. Welcome to Montreal, Nick! Suzuki has already spoken publicly that he would learn more of the language. He already has a large responsibility of being captain of a young Montreal Canadiens team.
Suzuki's on ice play is also just as important as well. The youngster has played quite well for the organization and it looks like Suzuki will provide great play for many years for this team.
It is already well known that Montreal can be a tough place to play. There is a passion and a demand for excellence for a franchise that has won twenty four Stanley Cups. Suzuki didn't seem bothered by the comments of the Quebec politicians to learn the French language.
This was a wise move on his part. His willingness to improve upon the language barrier suggest that he's the right guy for the job. Let's hope the twenty three year old captain can continue to impress the Montreal fans and government officials with his skills on and off the ice.
