At the end of the second period in Thursday night's game between the Minnesota Wild and Detroit Red Wings, there was a battle for the puck in front of the Red Wings' net as time expired. Detroit goalie Alex Nedeljkovic took exception to the extra pushes when the puck was loose and went after a Minnesota Wild player. Things quickly erupted and punches were soon thrown.

Everyone on the ice grabbed someone from the opposing team and right away, Wild goalie Cam Talbot skated the length of the ice to join in the festivities. Talbot and Nedeljkovic really wanted a piece of each other.

If it wasn't for the referees we would've had the first goalie fight of year!

Just as things were starting to cool down, behind the play Matt Dumba took rookie Lucas Raymond to the ice. Dumba landed some unnecessary shots to Raymond who was laying on the ice and ended up bleeding. This caused the teams to come together again as the Red Wings players tried to protect their rookie.

Somehow, the refs decided that only roughing penalties should be given out after all of this.
