Mark Stone's future with the Golden Knights may be in question, as his back injury from 2021 seems to have persisted. Much like the injured Flyers team this year, Vegas has operated with a banged-up squad with 505-man games total in 2021-2022.

Captain Mark Stone, who missed 45 games, was out for a majority of them with a back injury. Stone, who will turn 30 on May 13, said he will seek several opinions and doesn't «want to make a rash decision» before deciding on a procedure.

Back in April, it was reported that Mark Stone would return to battle against the Vancouver Canucks, which was interesting due to the Golden Knight's cap issues, which they thought they could save by trading Evgenii Dadonov.

Vegas utilized the LTIR in order to maintain cap compliance, with the ability to bring Stone back.

Well, the answer is quite simple. The Golden Knights have placed more players on LTIR. William Carrier, Nolan Patrick, and Laurent Brossoit have all been added Tuesday. They join Reilly Smith, Brett Howden, Nicolas Hague, and AHL defenseman Jake Bischoff on the list.

It is hard to tell where Mark Stone will end up, given the opaque situation regarding his back injury, and what route of treatment he will go with.

The 1st Captain of the Golden Knights club, plays a strong two-way game and since being picked up from Ottawa, has been a 40-point player in the last two seasons, and even being injured this year managed 30 points overall in 37 games.
