St. Louis Blues coach has had enough and throws his team under the bus after another loss
Things in St. Louis have been on edge for weeks now. After Craig Berube finally called out his goalie Jordan Binnington, for his behaviour which was detrimental to his team. He has now called out his entire team after a listless performance against the Winnipeg Jets.
The Blues lost the game 5-2, but the game wasn't as close as even the score suggests. The lack of effort has been a common theme at times for the team. For most of the season Berube had tried to shoulder most of the blame.
That changed last night.
During his post game media availability Berube completely threw his team under the bus. Something he probably should have done sooner.
If everybody doesn't come to the rink ready to really compete, move your feet and do things right and be detailed and attentive, we're not going to go anywhere. That's the bottom line.
As a coaching staff, we're preparing them. We tell what they need to do ... but we can't go out and play for them. They've got to go out and play - as a team. And right now, we're not doing it. We're not consistent enough, 100%, and you lose in this league.
It's clear Berube has had enough with his team's lackluster performance, but you always have to wonder if this is the right approach. The Blues currently sit outside the playoffs by 5 points, so at this point Berube might not have any other options.
