The road team finally won a game in the Eastern Conference Final as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the New York Rangers 3-1 to take a 3-2 series lead. With the Rangers realizing they are now on the brink of elimination, frustrations boiled over at the end of the game.
After Nikita Kucherov fired the puck on net as time expired, Adam Fox took exception and gave Kucherov a big slash. After that, all the players on the ice started pushing and shoving. As things started to escalate, the two least likely players on the ice dropped the gloves.
Steven Stamkos dropped the gloves with Alexis Lafreniere in a spirited tilt. It was only Lafreniere's second fight in the NHL and Stamkos' sixth. It will be interesting to see if any of this bad blood carries over to game 6.
