The World Junior's are happening now in Alberta, Canada. Team Sweden lost last night's game to Team USA by a score of 3-2. Jesper Wallstadt, who was drafted by the Minnesota Wild, was in goal and apparently didn't play up to his own standards.

After the loss Wallstadt gave these very critical comments of his performance.

SWE goalie Jesper Wallstadt (MIN) taking it personal: "I think I betrayed the whole team; all the players, all the staff and I disappointed the whole country with this loss."

He took it a little tough, despite making 38 saves on 41 shots, and Sweden will still be in the battle for 2nd place. It looked like Sweden didn't have the defense to back up Wallstedt out there, against the high-powered US team.

Sweden gave up 2 goals to Flames prospect Matthew Coronato, and 1 to the Ranger's prospect Brett Berard.

Wallstedt was recently named by Scott Wheeler as the best Goaltender prospect in the world, played 3 seasons with the SHL's Lulea HF, and was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in 2021.

Due to the glut in goalies in the organization, they parted ways with Kaapo Kahkonen and moved to a Marc-Andre Fleury and Cam Talbot tandem last season. The hope is Wallstedt will find his way soon, as Gustavsson and Wallstedt look to be the new 1A and 1B in Minnesota's future.

Wallstedt signed his 3-year entry-level contract for 2022-2023 in May of this year. Despite the poor showing, he should get another shot against Germany to get needed reps, as the AHL season will be starting soon.
