Today Team Sweden's Hockey program announced that any Swedish born players who are currently or who intend to play hockey in Russia or Belarus will no longer be allowed to represent their home country in any fashion.
This announcement comes after the combined attack by Russia and Belarus on the people of Ukraine. The IIHF has no longer allowed Russia or Belarus to compete in any international play such as the World Junior Hockey Championships that took place earlier this month in Edmonton Alberta Canada and the Women's World Hockey Championships currently going on now.
The NHL has cut ties with the Russia as well as the Canadian Hockey League will no longer allow teams in the OHL, QMJHL, or WHL draft players in the import draft from Russia.
Former NHL Legend Dominik Hasek has criticized the League for not doing more on the situation.
