Saturday night the Vancouver Canucks beat the Dallas Stars 4-1. The main reason was Thatcher Demko, who made 36 saves and one save in particular stood out more than the others.
While the Dallas Stars were on the powerplay, there was a scramble in front of the Canucks' net for a loose puck. The puck came out to Anton Lundell who had a wide open net. As Lundell fired the puck, Thatcher Demko stretched out his leg like a scorpion and robbed Lundell right on the goal line.
Thatcher Demko is Vancouver's most valuable player and he is very quickly entering the conversation as a top 5 goalie in the NHL. Demko could even receive some consideration for the Vezina this season.
