During yesterday's action, Michael McLeod of the New Jersey Devils took an elbow to the head from the Washington Capitals' Nick Jensen. McLeod appeared to be shaken up on the play, a crowd gathered and it looked like one of McLeod's teammates was going to step in for him. But McLeod had other plans, as soon as McLeod got his bearings he jumped to his feet and dropped the mitts and went after Jensen himself.
The two had a spirited tilt, but Michael McLeod definitely got the better of Jensen. But it would've been better if a teammate got in their sooner to stand up for McLeod.
On the play both men received 5-minute fighting majors, while McLeod was given 2-minutes for roughing and Jensen received an additional 2-minutes for the initial elbow.
The Capitals went on to win the game 4-3
