The Colorado Avalanche have officially acquired their next goalie
It would appear that the era of Darcy Kuemper has come to an end in Colorado. The Avalanche have officially made a move to acquire Alexandar Georgiev from the New York Rangers. The Rangers announced the trade via their official Twitter account this afternoon.
OFFICIAL: #NYR have acquired a third-round and fifth-round selection in the 2022 NHL Draft, as well as a third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, from Colorado in exchange for goaltender Alexandar Georgiev.
The deal marks the end of Georgiev's time in New York, and likely marks a new beginning in Colorado.
According to Frank Seravalli, while Colorado discussed a deal with Kuemper, no offer was ever made due to their cap situation.
