Things get heated between the LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks, goalie gets ejected
Despite both teams heading in different directions, the LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks still have a dislike for each other. Tonight with the LA Kings up 3-1, things between the teams boiled over.
With less then 10 seconds left in the 2nd period Frank Vatrano sucker punches Phoenix Copley. That's when things go absolutely wild. Copley who had been heated for most of the period immediately began throwing shots at Vatrano.
John Gibson attempted to get in on the action, but unfortunately the linesmen prevented the goaltenders from going at it. Multiple penalties were issued on the play but most notably Copley received an immediate ejection for throwing a punch with his blocker. The ejection forced Jon Quick into the game in relief. The Kings went onto win 6-3.
