Tom Wilson celebrates a goal before realizing he had actually been robbed
The Washington Capitals are hosting the Ottawa Senators in some afternoon game action ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl festivities, and the game between the Caps and during the second period, a play occurred which could have been labeled a crime scene.
In the opening 5 minutes of the 2nd frame with the Sens up 2-1 on Washington, Caps resident bad boy Tom Wilson thought he had tied the game on a brilliant feed from Evgeny Kuznetsov. As he celebrated on his way around the net, he realized that something obscene had just happened. Sens goaltender Anton Forsberg had found a way to get across and snag a puck that was labeled for the twine.
Wilson absolutely could not believe that he had not buried that opportunity. It was so spectacular that even the broadcast team had a hard time figuring out how Forsberg managed to make the save.
Simply unbelievable play by Forsberg there!
