Top deadline trade target injured
With the March 21st National Hockey League teams around the NHL are keeping a closer eye on their potential trade targets as the deadline inches closer and closer.
During the Second period of the Boston Bruins vs Arizona Coyotes game last night, Yote's star defender and one of the most sought after names at the deadline next week, Jakob Chychrun, left the game with a lower-body injury as a result of a collision along the boards with B's d-man Derek Forbort.
Initially, the hit didn't look serious, but Chychrun made a b-line (no pun intended to the dressing room). While one can hope the injury isn't bad enough to miss significant time, any time missed before the deadline for what is considered a top trade target come next Monday is valuable for showcasing purposes.
Chychrun, 23, is locked into a team-friendly 4.5 million dollar deal for the next 3 seasons. He has 7 goals and 14 points in 46 games this season for Arizona. It would appear several GMs that are looking to acquire the young blue-liner would be collectively holding their breath, hoping the injury isn't too serious.
