The NHL Trade Deadline is set for March 3rd, but according to many NHL sources, teams are looking to get an early jump on things this season. That means with the holiday roster freeze lifted, teams could be looking to get things moving. The buyers have begun to set themselves apart from the sellers.

With Patrick Kane, Bo Horvat, Ryan O'Reilly and Timo Meier representing "Group A", many eyes have shifted to the likes of Tyler Bertuzzi, Jonathan Toews and Vladimir Tarasenko as "Group B" options.

Vladimir Tarasenko's name has been in the trade rumors for nearly 2 years now and with the Blues outside the playoff race it appears now might finally be the time that Tarasenko moves. However, there seems to be an issue in that plan as with less than 2 months to the deadline it appears Tarasenko has suffered an injury.

The injury appears to be to Tarasenko's hand, after he blocked a shot.

After the shot block Tarasenko went to the locker room and did not return. If this is a significant injury it could impact the Blues ability to move Tarasenko, or his value. With only 2 months to the deadline, every team looking to move a player will begin to look at load managing their top assets.
