The National Hockey League does some pretty amazing things surrounding certain initiatives during the hockey season. One of them is Hockey fights Cancer.
One Leaf fan found out just before Christmas that she was diagnosed with cancer and a Toronto Maple Leafs player found out and decided he needed to make her Christmas, take a look:
Mitch Marner found out and had to send her a hockey fights cancer jersey with personally inscribed autograph to boot
shaes_life1: This is my auntie Laura, she recently found out she has cancer. She is a big @mapleleafs fan and her favorite player is @marner_93. She is going to wear her Maple Leafs gear and her Mitch Marner jersey to all her treatments. Well Mitch found out about it and look, he sent her a signed jersey and a video from @marnerassistfoundation for Christmas to say he was cheering her on just like she cheers him and his teammates on!! Her nephew Zach arranged all of this!! Mitch...on behalf of Laura and her whole family thank you so much for this thoughtful gift, it meant the world to her
Despite all of hockey's faults as a sport, this kind of thing is why it will forever be one of the best sports in the world. What a gesture by Marner.
