Trade Alert - The Montreal Canadiens have finally traded Jeff Petry
Last season Jeff Petry asked the Montreal Canadiens for a trade. Due to vaccine mandates, Petry's wife and children were forced to remain in the United States while he played in Canada. This led to Petry having his toughest season in Montreal.
Today though after months of searching the Montreal Canadiens have reached an agreement to send Jeff Petry to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Petry, 34, has 3 years remaining on a 4 year deal paying him $6,250,000 per season. Petry put up 27 points last season in 68 games.
This is the second trade of the day for the Penguins who earlier today traded John Marino to the New Jersey Devils for Ty Smith and a draft pick.
