Two Stanley Cup contenders emerge as the favorites to trade for Luke Schenn
The Vancouver Canucks have the 'For Sale' sign up on basically everybody on the roster not named Elias Pettersson or Quinn Hughes. After moving Bo Horvat, the Canucks have begun taking calls on JT Miller, Luke Schenn, Conor Garland and other players.
Out of all the trade chips, veteran defenceman, Luke Schenn has been attracting the most interest on the trade market. He is on pace to break his career high in points, (22) scoring 3 goals and 18 points in 50 games.
Reports have the Calgary Flames and Boston Bruins as front runners for the 33 year old blue liner.
Hearing Boston and Calgary could be emerging as the leading contenders for Luke Schenn if/when the #Canucks are ready to pull the trigger.
Schenn is one of the most physical defenders in the league and has two Stanley Cup rings on his resume. His style of play has playoff hockey written all over it. It's no wonder he's such a wanted man around the league. This year Schenn has played heavily with Quinn Hughes, showing he possesses the ability to play with high end talent, but he can also take part in a shutdown role.
Schenn's likely value on the trade market is an expected 2nd round pick, but the interest in Schenn could definitely increase the cost if teams enter a bidding war.
