You never like to see anyone get hurt especially when it could of been prevented. Case in point last night's game between the Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings at the Canadian Tire Centre. Last night Ottawa Senators' forward Tyler Ennis was checked from behind by Red Wings' Gustav Lindstrom.

Ennis was playing in his 700th NHL game, and during the 2nd period with the Senators leading 2-1 Ennis was cycling the puck behind the Red Wings" net when Lindstrom nailed him with a dirty cross check right on the numbers causing Ennis to leave the game.

The Ottawa Senators shared on Twitter that Tyler Ennis will not return with a upper body injury. No penalty was called as it apparently went unseen by the officials but it's possible the NHL Department of Player Safety could review the hit and a suspension could be coming for Mr Lindstrom.
