Update on Jakob Chychrun's lower body injury
Jakob Chychrun left Saturday's game against the Boston Bruins with a lower-body injury.
Chychrun was hit by Bruins defenseman Derek Forbort and fell awkwardly into the boards during the second period and did not return.
Per TSN's Pierre LeBrun Jakob Chychrun is flying back to Arizona for further evaluation on his lower body injury. The early indication is the injury might not be too serious but will not know for sure until the MRI is done.
The 23 year old defenseman is on a great contract for the next three seasons at a cap hit of 4.5 Million. He has 7 goals and 21 points in 47 games for the Coyotes. It will be interesting to see if his injury will slow any trade interest from the perspective teams.
To note that Coyotes aren't in a position where they have to trade Chychrun and despite this injury they could hold onto and move him during the off season when the market for his services opens up even more.
