His latest decision shows a major amount of disrespect to one of the Canucks established players.
Horvat's agent Pat Morris spent the last two days in Vancouver, trying to meet with Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin. However, they snubbed Horvat's agent and the big reason why- they extended Andrei Kuzmenko.
While Kuzmenko is a building block in Vancouver's future, it's clear how Rutherford operates... ruthless. The disrespect with how they treated Boudreau and Horvat will continue to paint the narrative of how the Canucks treat their players and staff. Passing up on the latest chance to extend your Captain to extended a rookie, shows how much Rutherford cares about his legacy in Vancouver.
The Canucks don't have any committment to signing Horvat, and it's entirely their right to let him walk or trade him. But refusing to meet with his agent of have a conversation is just another display of disrespect from a franchise who can't afford to turn players off from the idea of signing there.
