Victor Mete releases statement on World Juniors Sexual Assault investigation
The 2021-22 hockey season has been one that I would consider a much needed reckoning on the hockey world. Unearthing how truly toxic hockey culture is and has always been.
In recent weeks Hockey Canada and the 2017-18 world junior team has been under fire for a sexual assault that took place June 8th, 2018 by 8 of that team Canada squad.
Slowly, players are starting to release statements trying to clear their names as the 8 men involved remain unnamed.
The latest member of the team to do so is Ottawa Senators defensemen Victor Mete releasing this statement via his Twitter:
It's likely only a matter of time before the full list of names leaks, so it's smart for a player like Mete to get ahead of this.
