There seems to be a lot of this happening lately. At least more often than it should.
The Western Hockey League and Swift Current Broncos have released a statement saying the team has suspended its coach indefinitely pending a review following an incident yesterday.
Swift Current Broncos General Manager Chad Leslie announced today that Head Coach Devan Praught has been suspended indefinitely, for an alleged violation of the Western Hockey League Standards of Conduct. The WHL Security Network is reviewing the matter.
Assistant Coach Taras McEwen will assume the head coaching duties until further notice.
Neither the team nor the league would say what is alleged to have happened, although it must have been something serious as action was taken quickly. A response to the announcement on X indicated that a player was slashed and had his stick broken while the team was practicing yesterday.
