Wild forward Marcus Foligno earns multi-game suspension for kneeing opponent in the head
A Minnesota Wild forward earned himself a multi-game suspension on Thursday for his actions during a scrap on Tuesday night against the Winnipeg Jets.
Marcus Foligno was engaged in a physical altercation with Winnipeg Jets forward Adam Lowry, after which Foligno delivered a knee to the head of Lowry, who was down on the ice as the officials were attempting to break up the fight.
Foligno has been suspended for two games, which will rule him out of Saturday's contest against the Carolina Hurricanes and Monday's tilt with the Detroit Red Wings. The next game that Foligno is eligible to play in will be on Wednesday against the Jets.
Will the Jets be looking for some retribution on Wednesday? That game could end up being a heated one.
