In some heartbreaking news today, the Winnipeg Jets have announced that their head coach Rick Bowness will be on a leave of absence for a family health matter.
In a short statement from the team, they announced that Bowness will be away from the team after his wife Judy suffered a seizure, and is currently in the hospital.
This is terrible to hear, and undoubtedly the team and Jets fans will support Rick with taking time to be with his family. Most importantly, the entire hockey community is hoping for the best with Judy's health.
Bowness could be away from the team for an indefinite time, in which the assistant coaches on the Jets will pick up his duties. Rick should take all the time he feels appropriate to be with his family.
