A well placed source claims Maple Leafs already have their new coach
Everybody knew that when the Toronto Maple Leafs were ousted In the first round of the playoffs again, head coach Sheldon Keefe was going to be the first one gone. That axe dropped today and already a source that is closely connected to the Leafs has claimed they already have a deal in place for their next head coach.
According to a source that is closely connected to the Toronto Maple Leafs organization on X, the Maple Leafs have already verbally agreed to a contract with their next head coach; Take a look.
You will see. Leafs are going to give a week or so. But there has already been a verbal agreement. Details and structure of contract are not done yet. I'm being dead serious.
The source claims to know a family friend of Craig Berube, and that the leafs organization has already verbally agreed to hire him as the next head coach. I would take this with a grain of salt because you never actually know, especially when it's for all intents and purposes, a family friend, but it wouldn't surprise me either.
If it is in fact, Craig Berube, do you think he does enough to move the needle behind the Toronto Maple Leafs bench? He did win a Stanley Cup the St. Louis Blues in 2019 but other than that hasn't done too much.
I like the approach of having a no nonsense man behind the bench, but I'm not sure Berube Is the right fit behind the bench.
We'll see what happens, but if this report is right, the Toronto Maple Leafs will have a new head coach next week.
