Adam Ruzicka breaks his silence after after his contract terminat
Earlier this season the Arizona Coyotes claimed Adam Ruzicka off of waivers from the Calgary Flames. Ruzicka would only play three games for the Coyotes before his contract was ultimately terminated by the team. Last week the team placed Ruzicka on unconditional waivers for purposes of terminating his contract after a video surfaced online of Ruzicka reportedly in possession of an illegal substance.
Ruzicka has up to 60 days to determine whether or not he wants to file a claim against the franchise. Under the collective bargaining agreement, any contract termination can be challenged by the NHL Players association. Today, however, Ruzicka turned to his Instagram account, the same account that got him in trouble, to share the following information.
I made a big mistake and I will learn from it. I love you all and will be forever grateful. Adam.
Ruzicka still has the option of enrolling in the NHL's players assistance program should he choose, but no decision has been reportedly made at this time. In three games with Arizona he scored no goals and added no assists. The former fourth overall pick had played his entire career with the Calgary Flames up until the point that he was placed on waivers.
Only time will tell if he makes an eventual return to the NHL. All we can do is hope for his health and happiness at this time.
