Brad Treliving comes to terms with restricted free agent on new deal
The Toronto Maple Leafs finally secured a deal with their last arbitration eligible forward Connor Dewar.
After weeks of inactivity, the Toronto Maple Leafs in general manager Brad Treliving finally dipped their toes back into the free agent market. Today the team officially announced they have come to terms with restricted free agent Connor Dewar.
The Maple Leafs announced the deal on their official X account today.
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Connor Dewar to a one-year contract. The value of the contract is $1.18 million.
Dewar, 25, scored 10 goals and added 4 assists in 57 games with the Minnesota Wild. Dewar was acquired at the trade deadline by Toronto and added 1 goal and 4 assists down the stretch. Dewar also added 1 assist in the team's playoff run.
Dewar will continue to add to the Toronto Maple Leafs penalty kill which struggled at times last season. The 5'10 forward brings a skill set as a team lacks and can provide depth scoring which the team has been in desperate need of.
This signing helps the Maple Leafs avoid arbitration with their only arbitration. Eligible forward. The main police will likely look to round up their roster with players on professional tryouts or on cheap one-year deals going forward.
