Connor Bedard gets caught watching his pass and gets absolutely wiped out
Connor Bedard was the first overall pick in last year's NHL draft. The British Columbia product was considered to be the most NHL ready prospect since Auston Matthews. Despite this acclaim Bedard however continues to make rookie mistakes.
While every player makes mistakes. Bedard has a tendency of making mistakes that put him in a dangerous position. Earlier this season he suffered a broken jaw after getting caught with his head down on a Brendan Smith hit. Tonight Bernard added to the list of hits that he is absorbed against the Arizona Coyotes.
In the first period of tonight's game Bedard once again put himself in a vulnerable position. After making a pass to his teammate rather than immediately getting back into the play, he instead admires his pass. Matt Dumba saw this opportunity and took full advantage delivering a huge hit into the boards.
Despite having all the talent in the world, if Bedard doesn't keep his head up and aware of his surroundings, he is drastically going to decrease the longevity of his NHL career.
