After the waiver wire had been quiet for some time, we have a little bit of movement today, with the Detroit Red Wings placing a forward on waivers.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, the Red Wings have place Nolan Stevens on waivers for the purpose of contract termination; take a look.

Stevens, 27, signed with the Red Wings Prior to this season and has spent all his time in the American Hockey League with the Grand Rapids Griffins. In 31 AHL games Stevens scored 3 goals and added 8 assists for 11 total points.
This could mean a few things, either Stevens wants to go play elsewhere, maybe overseas, or his career is coming to an end. Either way he was never going to play in the NHL.
