After months and months of issues, the Vancouver Canucks drama could finally be coming to an end, as the team almost traded Elias Pettersson this past week after falling just short on a J.T. Miller trade.
While the fans and the media would clearly prefer Miller be moved, the team have pivoted in recent times, and they are now taking calls on both players, although many believed they would choose one or the other.
However, that may be changing in the very near future, as Canucks reporter Rick Dhaliwal has now revealed that he believes the team will be trying to trade not one, but both of their superstar forwards.
This drama has been happening for months, with the organization being aware of the situation involving Miller and Pettersson for years, but at this point, it's becoming clear that the Canucks simply aren't going to give them away, as they'll stand firm in their demands.
Those demands currently stand at NHL level players rather than prospects and picks, and with teams like Buffalo, Boston, Dallas and New York all interested in one or both players, it's safe to say that things are going to heat up very, very soon.
The trade deadline is still over six weeks away, meaning their hand won't be forced for quite some time, but with the Canucks sitting outside of the Stanley Cup Playoff picture in the Western Conference, they may want to be a move, sooner rather than later.
