Edmonton Oilers are officially ready to move on from top forward
The Edmonton Oilers are officially ready to move on from a top forward and are expected to trade Evander Kane in the near future.
The Edmonton Oilers are considered one of the teams to have had the best off-season in the league. Along with the Washington Capitals, the Oilers have made some of the best additions to their roster. With those additions will eventually come for the need of substraction for salary cap purposes.
According to the team at The Hockey Writers the Edmonton Oilers have made the decision to move on without Evander Kane as a member of the team.
Unfortunately for Kane, it once again appears that the forward has a two year shelf life with a team. After having his contract terminated by the San Jose Sharks, Kane came to Edmonton for what was expected to be his final chance at the NHL. So once again this begs the question, why can't Evander Kane keep an NHL job?
In 76 games last season Kane had 26 goals, which further begs the question, how is his productivity not enough? Once again rumors of off ice drama will swirl around Kane who has two years left on his current deal with a $5,125,000 cap hit. It will be interesting to see if anyone takes a chance on Kane or if his luck has run out.
