Keeper of the Cup takes the Stanley Cup back after weeks of partying
The Keeper of the Cup has confiscated it from the Florida Panthers after the Panthers have been partying for weeks, the reason isn't what you think though.
The Stanley Cup is one of the hardest trophies to win in all sports. In fact, most would argue that it is the hardest trophy to win, with that being said the Florida Panthers have been going a little bit crazy with all the partying the past few weeks since winning the cup, and it appears that the Keeper of the Cup has taken it back.
According to George Richards of Florida Hockey Now and NHL.com, The Keeper of the Cup Phil Pritchard packed it up after the Florida Panthers Stanley Cup Parade.
The reason for it is not what you would think, but rather to repair any damage the Panthers caused during the Stanley Cup parade and the late night the followed, but also to have all of the names engraved on the Cup as well.
According to NHL.com, Phil Prichard, the Keeper of the Cup' packed up the Stanley Cup after a late night out following Sunday's championship celebration in Fort Lauderdale.
On Monday, Prichard flew the Stanley Cup to Montreal where he handed it off to Louise St. Jacques who will painstakingly hammer the names of 52 players and staff into the silver.
After having poured their blood sweat and tears into the hockey season this year, I'm sure having the cup taken away from them isn't it easy thing to stomach however getting it taken away because your name needs to be engraved on it has to be one of the best reasons to not have it in your possession.
