Florida Panthers send memorabilia to Hockey Hall of Fame including 1 gross item
The Florida Panthers sent a package to the Hockey Hall of Fame, including memorabilia from their historic cup victory, in the shipment was one rather gross item.
The Florida Panthers defeated the Edmonton Oilers to win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history. This historic victory came one year after the Panthers fell short in the finals against the Vegas golden knights. As all teams do, the Florida Panthers put together a memorabilia package to be displayed at the Hockey Hall of Fame.
The Panthers sent the package to the hall with lots of items including game worn jerseys, sticks, helmets and one item that caught fans by surprise. That item was the game used mouthguard worn by Matthew Tkachuk throughout the Panthers' playoff run.
The Florida Panthers Stanley Cup champions display is now up at the Hockey Hall of Fame
Throughout his career Tkachuk has become notorious for not wearing his mouth guard and instead simply chewing on it all game long. The mouthguard rarely sits properly in his mouth and instead is often seen as an accessory to keep him busy.
Matthew Tkachuk's mouthguard is part of the Florida Panthers' Cup display at the Hockey Hall of Fame 😭
The mouthguard looks more like some sort of chew toy than it does a piece of protective equipment. This item will now be enshrined in the Hockey Hall of Fame and forever represent the Panthers Stanley Cup victory, so no matter what happens throughout his career, a piece of Matthew Tkachuk will always be immortalized.
