A former NHL draft pick with a checkered past Ben Johnson has signed a one-year deal with HK Dukla Michalovce which plays in the Slovak Extraliga league which is the top hockey league in Slovakia.

Johnson, 30, was drafted in the third round by the New Jersey Devils in the 2012 NHL draft. He would sign an entry level deal with the franchise before his disgusting actions had his contract terminated and led to Johnson receiving a three-year prison sentence for his crimes.

WARNING: The following story includes delicate matters that include rape and sexual assault.

Ben Johnson was found guilty of two distinct counts of r*pe and sexual assault that took place while he was a player for the OHL's Windsor Spitfires. The two incidents, which each happened in the restrooms of two different bars, happened within a few weeks of one another.

In the first incident, Johnson coerced a 20-year-old woman into engaging in s*xual activity with him. In the second incident, Johnson again coerced a 16-year-old girl into having s*x with him before r*ping her. The second female was under the influence when the crime was committed.

It is truly a shame that his hockey talents outweigh his poor reputation. This undeserving person has another chance at making money playing pro hockey.
