We've got some NHL action tonight!
Teams made the final modifications to their rosters, and Elliotte Friedman confirmed that four players were sent on waivers by the Florida Panthers, Vegas Golden Knights and Vancouver Canucks.
The Panthers decided to cut the goaltender Chris Driedger and forward MacKenzie Entwistle; the Canucks sent defenseman Mark Friedman, and the Golden Knights placed Raphael Lavoie, a day after claiming him from the Edmonton Oilers.
The Golden Knights visibly had no room for Lavoie on the lineup, and decided to send him to the Henderson Silver Knights, in the AHL. One can only wonder if the Edmonton Oilers will be tempted to claim him tomorrow.
The Oilers' 38th overall pick in 2019 played in only seven NHL games in his career. He's yet to score a single point, and it looks like he'll have to wait a bit longer before showing what he can do in the league.
Vegas has a packed lineup. Even the bottom-six is filled with talent, with recent acquisitions Tanner Pearson and Victor Olofsson, as well as veterans Nicolas Roy, Brett Howden and Keegan Kolesar.
The Golden Knights will be in action tomorrow, for their home-opener agains the Colorado Avalanche. A tough challenge awaits Bruce Cassidy and his players, with Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Mikko Rantanen, and the others look to get a strong season start on the road.
Stay tuned as an update on Lavoie's fate is expected tomorrow, at 2 p.m. ET.
